Most people fail because they think that Instagram is the same as it was last year but there have been some major changes in 2024 and we’re going to talk you through the main 3!

1️⃣ Master Your Hook, or Risk Being Skipped 🎣
Instagram’s CEO has made it clear: if you don’t grab your audience’s attention within the first couple of seconds of your video, you’ll lose them. 

Your “hook” is that snappy, engaging opener—basically, the first thing your audience hears or reads that makes them want to stay.

So what’s a hook? 

Think of it like the headline of a newspaper article or a killer intro. It needs to answer the question: why should I keep watching? 

Maybe you ask a thought-provoking question like “Are you making this mortgage mistake?”

You also need to write it on your video—big, bold text that grabs attention as people scroll past. 

Text on screen is key for engagement, especially when viewers are watching on mute (as many do!). More views = more potential leads.

2️⃣  Grid’s Going BIG! 🖼️

Instagram’s shaking things up by experimenting with larger, rectangular posts in the grid view (you can see all the juicy details here). 

So instead of the traditional square posts, you get more space to showcase your content. This means your videos and images can pack more punch in the feed, giving you the opportunity to really show off your stuff.

Think about it: larger posts let you tell a bigger story without cramming everything into a tight space. 

These larger posts will help your key messages stand out and make your profile look more cohesive, professional, and visually appealing.

3️⃣  Add Comments to Stories: More Conversations, More Engagement 💬

Instagram’s newest story feature lets your audience add comments directly to your stories! 

Before, viewers could only react with emojis or DM you privately—but now, they can jump into the conversation right on your story. This means you’ve got a whole new way to engage with your audience in real-time.

Here’s where you get clever: use the comments feature to ask questions, run polls, or even invite followers to book a quick consultation. For example, you could post a story with a poll like: “Ready to buy your first home? Yes or no?” or “What’s your biggest mortgage challenge?” 

Then, when they comment, you can respond directly, deepening that interaction. The more back-and-forth you get on your stories, the more Instagram boosts your visibility in feeds. 💥 

More visibility means more chances to convert viewers into clients!
