Today I’m going to show you how to create engaging social media content, without spending a penny. 🪙

No marketing agencies (which you think might be backward coming from marketing agency!) no paying your niece who knows how to use Tik Tok, just simply using these free strategies and tools to take something else off your plate. 🍽️

You’re already incredibly busy and we all know that creating social media content falls to the bottom of the list.

But don’t worry, using what you find in this email will not only free you up time, but also increase engagement on your social media content. 📈

Most mortgage advisers fail at creating content because they simply lack time. ⏰

They set an hour in their diary every other week to sit down on Canva, or record a video, with all good intentions…

Then something more important comes up, a case needs submitting, a staff member is off sick, the dog needs a walk 🐶 (we see you procrastinators! 👀)

Don’t think social media is always down to you!

We all have family or friends around us, people who are rooting for our business to do well. 🏆

Aunts, Uncles, Mums, Dads, long lost cousins or simply a friend you went to high school with.

Think of all the people who you’ve helped when it came to their mortgage or protection.

You want to add them into a WhatsApp Group, or be clever and use a WhatsApp Broadcast List (See how to use them here)

Pick out 5 people that you know wouldn’t mind putting their face out there and send them the following:

“Hi guys, I’m looking for a favour please 😇 I want to upload some success stories onto my social media channels, that’s where you come in!

Would you be able to send me a photo of you, either sat at home at the moment, or if you bought a new home, maybe one of you in front of the house?

I’m going to upload them to socials with a little story of how I helped you with your mortgage.

Would really appreciate it if you could please 😊

Take each one and create a social media post describing how you helped them arrange their mortgage, giving as much or as little detail as you want.

You can then tag them in this post on social media (if they’re happy to) to increase the chances of their social media audience seeing it, thus boosting your chance of new leads. 🚀

Taking It Further:

Now you want to think of 3 people that are comfortable with social media and being on camera. If you can’t think of a family member, maybe message some past clients that you really got on with.

Now instead of asking for a photo, ask for a quick 30 recommendation second video. 🎬

People want guidance with video, so tell them they can talk about:

  • How you helped them (was it a mortgage for a new home?)
  • How you made them feel (was it a positive experience?)
  • What was the easiest part of the whole process?

These videos are absolute gold and can be used more than once, I’d even recommend uploading them to your website.

Top Tip: When uploading these to Facebook upload them as a Reel not a standard video, it will help the video be seen by more people 📊

One Step Further:

The final step, and this is for mortgage advisers and clients that feel confident enough is to invite them onto a ‘live’ 🎥

It could be a Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn Live (depending on where your audience spend their time.)

Talk about the whole process, how easy they found it, why they wouldn’t do their mortgage again on their own.

Have a list of 10 questions you could ask them in case you feel the conversation stalling a little. 💬

REMEMBER if you have a team in the office you can ask each and every one of them to carry out the steps above. 

With 3 brokers, getting 3 family member’s photos and stories, you have 9 engaging social media posts ready to go! ✅
