Last week I went to my favourite Italian restaurant.
Read the entire menu, every page. Starters, pasta, mains, specials, all of it.
And I ordered the exact same dish I’ve ordered the last three times.
Penne Toscana.
All that choice, and I still couldn’t pick anything different.
That’s exactly what happens when you open Instagram to post.
You’ve got endless things you could talk about.
Every client, every question, every result you’ve ever had.
But instead of picking something new, you either post nothing, or you default to the same thing again.
A post about income protection.
A screenshot of a review.
It’s not that you don’t have ideas.
It’s that too many options with no system feels exactly the same as having none.
So here’s the fix.
Stop trying to choose from everything in your head and go find out what people are actually asking.
There’s a free website that almost feels like a cheat code
It’s called Also Asked (give it a Google now)
Type in a phrase your ideal client would search, something like self employed mortgage, and it shows you the real questions Google has grouped around that search.
Not guesses. Actual questions real people are typing in.
Pull five of those questions and you’ve got five posts decided for you, no scrolling the whole menu required.
And don’t post randomly either.
Every week should include five different types of questions
That mix is what builds trust over time, not the same dish ordered again and again.
I cover the full seven step plan inside the Learning Lab, reply to this email if you want to see the rest.
