For 18 months I pushed the same golf trolley round the course.
Complaining every time that surely someone could have built one with somewhere to put your pencil.
I’d shove it in my pocket, drop it in the grass, and lose it most rounds.
Then last month I actually looked at the trolley properly.
On top of the little ball holder compartment, there was a pencil holder.
Built in, the whole time.
Eighteen months of irritation, solved by something that had been there since the day I bought it.
I’m telling you this because the same thing is true of Instagram.
Most brokers think making reels means filming yourself.
Learning to edit, and spending hours getting it right.
So they avoid video completely, pay someone else to do it.
Or just put it off another week.
But Instagram’s already built the pencil holder for you:
Open the app.
Create a new Reel.
Then press Templates at the top:

It’s not a hack or a workaround, it’s a built in feature that most people never go looking for.
Because they assume reels mean filming from scratch.
What comes up are proper done for you templates.
The structure, the timing and the transitions are all already built.
So you just drop your own photos or clips in and it’s finished.
Save a few that fit your business.
Behind the scenes shots at your desk, photos with happy clients, a shot of your local high street.
Then go to your saved templates, add your content, and post it.
No filming to camera, no editing software.
No waiting until you feel ready.
The templates were already there, same as the pencil holder.
I teach this inside the Learning Lab, and in there you get access to so much more, which includes:
- The exact search terms that unlock even more hidden templates most people never find
- The same zero effort method inside CapCut and Canva, so you’ve got three different ways to create reels without ever being on camera
